Preliminary exercise

The task
Continuity task involving filming and editing a character opening a door, crossing a room and sitting down in a chair opposite another character, with whom he/she then exchanges a couple of lines of dialogue.
This task should demonstrate match on action. shot/reverse shot and th 180 degree rule.

Step 1
Storyboards are essentially basic, cartoon versions of what each shot will look like when filmed and edited.

7. Shot/ reverse shot.

Key shots

1. Character opening a door
2. Crossing the room
3. sitting down opposite second character
4. 180 degree rule going to three or four lines of dialogue (shot reverse shot.)
